The Russian Foreign Ministry welcomed the agreements reached within the framework of the first phase of the peace plan aimed at ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry statement said: “In recent days, there have been positive developments regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.”
He added: “Reports indicate that Israel and Hamas, with the help of Egypt, Qatar, the United States and Turkey, have reached a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.”
The statement stressed that “Russia welcomes these important agreements, and they represent a first stage.”
The Ministry stressed the necessity of sustaining the ceasefire, contributing to the long-term stability of the situation in the Gaza Strip, and resuming the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to all those in need.
The ministry added: “With regard to various aspects of reconstruction and development in Gaza after the end of the conflict, including the deployment of international forces to stabilize the Strip, the formation of a transitional government of technocrats and other issues, the mechanisms and time frames have not yet been determined.”
The Ministry stressed that “this group of issues will undoubtedly require further coordination with all concerned parties,” calling for “not to rush or prejudge the results of these agreements.”
