Nestlé Water workers in Zgharta brandish a strike weapon against management to demand their rights

During the past hours, social media sites witnessed the circulation of news that employees of the “Nestle Water” company in the Zgharta district went on strike, in protest against the deterioration of their working and living conditions, and to demand improving working conditions and securing their basic rights.

During their movement, the employees raised the slogan “Our rights are not granted,” stressing the need to secure the minimum wage and social security, following a series of accumulated complaints and demands related to their professional situation.

The participants in the movement explained that their primary goal is to make their voices heard and put their demands on the path of serious treatment, in a way that guarantees them fair rights and preserves their functional and living dignity. They also stressed that the strike does not aim to disrupt work, but rather seeks to reach a fair settlement that establishes a stable work relationship that preserves the interests of employees and the institution alike.
