The Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker, whose real name is Fadel Shamandar, is preparing to return to the artistic scene and stand again on stage, through an upcoming concert that will be held at the “Abu Bakr Salem” Theater in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on October 22, as part of the “Riyadh Season” activities.
In this context, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh, announced through his account on the “X” platform today, Sunday, about the event by saying: “Many asked about it, and many waited for its return… The great artist Fadel Shaker meets his fans from Riyadh after a long absence at the Abu Bakr Salem Theater as part of the Riyadh season concerts,” noting that tickets for the concert will go on sale next Wednesday at exactly eight o’clock in the evening.
This return comes after many years during which Shaker’s appearances were limited to limited singing works and media appearances, in addition to the release of new songs that achieved widespread popularity and hundreds of millions of views.
It is noteworthy that Shaker had retired from art in 2012, and went into hiding for years in the Ain al-Hilweh camp, before surrendering himself to the Lebanese army on October 5, 2025. Last July, the Lebanese judiciary agreed to release him in exchange for financial bail in four cases brought against him, most notably the “Abra File,” about nine months after his arrest, as the decision included lifting the travel ban on him and handing him over his passport. On the other hand, the artist is still being tried in separate security files in which he was previously sentenced in absentia, in conjunction with his insistence on pleading innocent of the charges against him.
