Barcelona defeated its rival, Real Madrid, 7-0, in the Women's Clasico

The Barcelona women’s team achieved a historic and sweeping victory over its traditional rival, Real Madrid, with seven unanswered goals, in the “El Clásico” match that brought the two teams together yesterday evening, Sunday, in the sixth round of the Spanish Women’s League.

Barcelona women imposed absolute control on the field from the starting whistle, and practically decided the match during the first half, which witnessed the scoring of five full goals against the royal team.

Claudia Pena shone remarkably, engraving her name in the history of El Clásico matches by scoring a “super hat-trick,” becoming the first player to achieve this achievement in matches between the two teams. Pena opened the scoring early in the fourth minute, before adding the thirty-second goals in the 28th and 32nd minutes, while her colleague Caroline Graham Hansen scored the fourth goal in the 33rd minute. One minute before the end of the first half, Pena returned to complete the first half hat-trick (her team’s fifth) in the 44th minute.

The Catalan team continued its attacking pressure in the second half without stopping, as Eva Bayor scored the sixth goal in the 55th minute, before substitute Sydney Schertenleib concluded the goal festival with a powerful shot in the 88th minute.

With this overwhelming victory, Barcelona achieved the largest result in the history of women’s El Clásico matches against Real Madrid, strengthening its lead in the league standings by a full mark with 18 points collected from 6 consecutive victories, while Real Madrid’s balance froze at 13 points.
