Al-Riyadi Club imposed its technical and physical advantage to decide the match and win the “Wasl” Basketball Championship title for the third time in a row, while Al-Hikma Club failed to win its first title despite its distinguished run in the “Final 8” competitions.
Al-Riyadi decided the match through clear superiority since the first quarter, which he finished ahead (26-14). Despite Al-Hikma’s success in reducing the gap by winning the second quarter (20-14), Al-Riyadi returned to impose its control in the third quarter with a score of (15-11), before confirming its superiority by winning the last quarter by two points (22-20).
The two teams had well-deserved passage to the final scene. Al-Riyadi reached the final after defeating Al-Ula of Saudi Arabia with a score of (82-78) in the semi-finals, while Al-Hikma snatched the qualification ticket by defeating Al-Kuwait of Kuwait (87-74).
In terms of individual performance, American player Zach Lofton excelled remarkably among the athlete, scoring 25 points, along with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Haik Gyukjian and Nick West contributed 13 points each; Where Gyukjian achieved 10 rebounds and 3 assists, West added 12 rebounds and 3 assists, while American Donovan Williams scored 11 points and 7 rebounds.
As for Al-Hikma camp, Karim Ezz El-Din was the most prominent player offensively, scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Gerard Hadidian scored 13 points and 5 rebounds, while the American duo Jamal Jones and Deshawndre Washington scored 9 points each, with Jones distinguished by 8 rebounds, and Washington with 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
