Flydubai announced that a fight had occurred inside the cockpit on board its flight No. (FZ1073) heading from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, which took place on September 30. The company confirmed that the plane’s crew succeeded in controlling the situation, changing the flight path, and landing safely at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, stressing the safety of all passengers and crew members.
Flydubai explained that it had sent two replacement aircraft to Tabuk to transport passengers and flight crew, stressing that this accidental incident would not affect other scheduled operations within its flight network.
Regarding the circumstances of the incident, the company indicated that the reasons and motives for the quarrel are still unknown at this initial stage, and that it is subject to an ongoing official investigation, calling on all parties to stay away from early speculation until the relevant authorities reveal the full facts. It also reiterated that its top priority is to ensure the safety, health and well-being of passengers and crew members, and to provide full support for the official investigation.
For its part, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk announced, in a statement reported by CNN, that all passengers of the flight left for their final destinations on board the alternative plane that took off at exactly 5:40 p.m.
The airport reaffirmed its full commitment to the regulations and instructions issued by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation, in line with international treaties and agreements related to the safety of air navigation and the safety of passengers and cabin crew. Thus, the passenger transportation process has been completed, while the causes of the quarrel remain under official investigation, according to what was confirmed by Flydubai.
