The Iraqi government spokesman, Haider Al-Aboudi, announced the arrival of a new shipment of cash dollars to the country yesterday, Wednesday, within the framework of joint understandings with the United States of America to ensure that the market’s foreign exchange needs are met in accordance with approved policies.
Al-Aboudi explained, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that this step comes as a continuation of the understandings reached by Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi with the American side, with the aim of ensuring the continued flow of foreign exchange shipments and meeting the country’s legitimate needs.
The government spokesman stated that these understandings are yielding successive results thanks to the progress achieved by Iraq in strengthening the system of control over the distribution of the dollar, regulating its uses, and reducing cases of misuse, as well as expanding electronic payment methods and moving forward with the gradual shift towards the digital economy.
