"Reggae" It overthrows a smuggler and a counterfeiter and seizes quantities of illegal tobacco products

The Anti-Smuggling Service, affiliated with the Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Control Department (Regie), seized large quantities of smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products, during a series of field raids that included a number of areas in the Chouf and Bekaa regions.

The Regie explained, in a statement carried by the National News Agency, that security operations were carried out in the towns of Chtaura, Bednayel, and Tamnin al-Fawqa in the Bekaa, in addition to the towns of Batloun and Bekaata in the Chouf.

The raids resulted in the seizure of various types of illegal products, including electronic cigarettes, smuggled and counterfeit honey, as well as quantities of smuggled cigarettes and counterfeit cigars.

The Regie administration confirmed that these operations come as a continuation of its tireless efforts aimed at combating the phenomenon of smuggling and counterfeiting tobacco products and protecting local markets, noting that arrest reports have been organized against the violators and referring them to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal measures against them.
