Reuters reported that the escalating rise in diesel prices has turned into a political challenge for the US administration and the Republican Party, especially in agricultural states, where this fuel is an essential component of agricultural activities, transporting goods by truck, and the industrial sector.
In light of the increasing pressure on the Republican Party to address the crisis of the high cost of living before the elections, the US administration is considering a series of measures that include: motivating allied countries to use their reserve stocks, imposing possible restrictions on US diesel exports, as well as joint coordination with refining companies to enhance supplies in the local market.
