Apple is developing a smart bracelet to rival Whoop's dominance in the fitness market

Apple is considering developing a completely new health and fitness tracking device that is worn around the wrist without a screen, similar to devices produced by Whoop, as part of its efforts to restructure its smart watch lineup and innovate modern technologies for wearable devices.

According to Bloomberg, citing informed sources, the company has been developing prototypes of this device for several months. Although the project received strong support from senior executives, management has not yet taken a final decision about putting the product on the market.

The project is currently in an early stage known internally as “technical exploration,” and expectations indicate that if a decision is made to proceed with its production, it will not be put on the market before 2028.

The prototype designs rely on a thin cloth bracelet that includes a processing unit equipped with advanced sensors. The absence of a screen represents the fundamental difference between this upcoming device and the Apple smart watch, which is primarily based on the screen to integrate fitness functions, applications, and notifications.

The sources indicated that this product, which represents a potential competitor to Whoop, has received great attention from Chairman of the Board Tim Cook and Eddie Cue, who is responsible for the services sector, who in turn took over supervision of the company’s initiatives in the health sector late last year.
