The Central Bank of Jordan raises interest rates by 25 basis points

The Open Market Operations Committee at the Central Bank of Jordan decided, during its sixth meeting in 2026, to raise interest rates on all monetary policy instruments by 25 basis points, with this decision to be sold as of tomorrow, Monday.

The Jordanian News Agency, Petra, reported that this decision comes in line with the central bank’s main goal of maintaining monetary stability, and enhancing the attractiveness of the Jordanian dinar and the competitiveness of the assets denominated in it, by aligning local interest rates with developments and trends prevailing in the regional and international financial markets.

This measure came after a comprehensive review conducted by the committee of the most prominent economic, monetary and financial developments on the local, regional and international arenas, as well as monitoring the monetary policy directions of major central banks and the necessary measures to confront rising inflationary pressures.
