On Friday evening, Los Angeles County security authorities responded to a report of the presence of an intruder at the home of former US Vice President Kamala Harris, in Malibu, California, according to law enforcement officials and a Harris spokesman.
The Los Angeles County Police Department explained that sheriff’s deputies went to the home around 10:30 p.m., after Harris’ security detail called to report the presence of a “suspicious person.”
Upon their arrival, police officers contacted the person at the scene and advised him to leave, so he left voluntarily without any incident.
Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were not at home at the time of the incident, according to her spokesman, Eduardo Negron.
Negron said Harris and her husband are “grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded so quickly.”
