The recent updates to Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence assistant sparked a wave of complaints from Android phone users, due to the application’s interference with some daily functions and some people’s preference to return to the traditional Google Assistant.

To disable Gemini and change the default assistant on Android devices, users can follow simple steps via the phone settings:

– Change the virtual assistant: Go to “Settings,” then “Applications,” and choose “Default Applications.” After that, click on “Digital Assistant” and choose “Google Assistant” instead of Gemini.

– Deactivate it from within the application: Open the Gemini application, click on the profile picture, go to “Settings”, then choose “Digital assistants from Google”, and change the option to “Google Assistant”.

– Permanently disable the application: If you want to stop the application completely, you can go to the “Applications” list in the phone settings, search for the “Gemini” application, and click on the “Disable” option.
