Maritime traffic trends diverge sharply across two critical choke points, with transits declining in the Strait of Hormuz and rising in Bab al-Mandab, according to data released on Monday.
The Ax Marine Traffic Authority announced that marine traffic patterns are moving in two opposite directions across the two straits.
Strait of Hormuz crossings decreased by 28% to 77, with loaded flights decreasing from 45 to 33.
The crossings of the licensed fleet and the parallel fleet also decreased from 50 to 23 in the region.
A total of 40 crossings remained without specifying their routes, while 32 crossings used Iran’s unilateral plan.
