The meeting announced, in a statement, its support for the strike of the Public Administration Employees Association, calling on the associations and unions to unify their movements, in light of the decline in the value of salaries and the high cost of transportation and living.
He criticized the 2027 draft budget, considering that it does not include a serious treatment of employee conditions, especially in terms of correcting salaries, compensation, transportation allowances, and social benefits, in addition to the existence of a disparity in bonuses and additional work allowances between departments.
He called on the Finance and Budget Committee to introduce amendments to the project to secure clear allocations to correct wages, raise transportation and social benefits allowances, and unify compensation and rewards according to fair standards.
The meeting stressed that employees do not demand benefits, but rather salaries that guarantee a minimum level of decent living, warning that the continuation of the current situation may lead to the paralysis of public institutions.
He stressed that the moves may graduate to “complete closure of public administrations,” holding the government responsible for any disruption resulting from failure to address the crisis.
