Argentine Claudio Echeverri moved from Manchester City to Portuguese Benfica on loan until the end of the season, according to what the English club announced.
The young playmaker joined City in 2024, but stayed with River Plate until early 2025, before drawing attention by scoring six goals and leading the Argentine national team to the final of the South American Youth Under-20 Championship.
Echeverry made his first appearance with City in the FA Cup final in 2025, and also scored from a free kick in the Club World Cup before suffering an injury.
The Argentine played last season on loan to Bayer Leverkusen, then moved to Girona in January, before starting a new experience with Benfica in the Portuguese League and the European League.
