The Chairman of the Lebanese-Emirati Business Council, Wassim Daher, confirmed in a statement that Lebanon is facing a new and promising economic phase in light of the visit of the UAE economic delegation headed by the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, and the resulting understandings that strengthen bilateral relations.

Daher pointed out that the UAE side’s insistence on converting the understandings into actual projects reflects a clear seriousness in strengthening cooperation, supported by a joint political will from the leadership of the two countries. He considered that the signing of the agreement to establish the joint UAE-Lebanese Business Council and holding its first meeting in Beirut represent a strong message of support for Lebanon, and a practical and solid framework for activating the role of the private sector in launching sustainable investment partnerships.

He explained that the next stage will witness intensive coordination between the companies of the two countries to identify and develop promising opportunities, stressing the need for government agencies to take the necessary steps to facilitate investments and develop the business environment. He concluded by thanking the leadership of the two countries, and praising the efforts of the economic bodies headed by former Minister Mohamed Choucair and the members of the Business Council in making the forum’s activities a success.
