The Ministry of Economy and Trade announced in a statement that, as part of its campaign “to control violations of generators and protect the rights of consumers, the Department of Economy and Trade in the North, in conjunction with the State Security Service, continued its strict oversight rounds on electric generators in Tripoli and Minya, which resulted in the writing of 13 arrest reports against violators and the confiscation of their generators for the benefit of the Tripoli municipality and the municipalities of Minya with the reference of the competent judiciary.”
She pointed out that “five arrest reports were written against the owners of generators that violated the pricing of the Ministry of Energy, in the locality of Abu Samra, and they were confiscated for the benefit of the Tripoli municipality. Six arrest reports were drawn up against the owners of violating generators in the locality of Al-Minya and confiscated for the benefit of the municipalities. An arrest report was drawn up against the municipality of Ain Yacoub – Akkar, which runs the generator, for violating the official pricing. In addition, an arrest report was written against the owner of a generator in the port, based on A complaint for violating the official pricing.”
She pointed out that, “As part of its follow-up to food safety and public safety conditions, the Economic Department in the North, with the support of State Security, raided a food warehouse in Chekka – Batroun, where 2,080 sacks, weighing 25 kg each, were seized, without identifying indications. An investigation has been opened to take a final decision regarding them.”
