The Lebanon Debate correspondent reported that a horrific traffic accident occurred on the road to the town of Fnaideq in Akkar, following a collision between a car and a motorcycle, resulting in a number of injuries, including one person who was seriously injured.
Immediately, ambulance teams arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to Khalaf Al Habtoor Hospital in Harrar to receive treatment, while the condition of one of them was described as critical.
According to the information of the “Lebanon Debate” correspondent, one of the injured, a member of one of the security services, soon died as a result of the severe injuries he suffered as a result of the accident.
The tragic accident highlights the traffic accidents that occur on Akkar’s roads, especially the internal and mountainous roads that connect the towns of the region to each other, where motorcycles constitute an essential part of daily transportation.
The Fnideq Road is considered one of the vital roads in the Jouma and Upper Akkar region, and it witnesses the movement of vehicles and motorcycles, while the risk of accidents on mountain roads doubles due to their nature, the large number of turns, and the varying driving conditions between one region and another.
In recent hours, several areas in Lebanon have witnessed a series of traffic accidents, including a collision between five vehicles on the Naameh Highway towards Khaldeh, resulting in two injuries, in addition to an accident between two cars on the Chekka Highway towards Beirut, which resulted in a number of injuries, in a new indication of the continued bleeding on Lebanese roads.
In Fnideq, the accident turned from injuries, one of which was initially described as critical, to death, while the circumstances of the collision and its occurrence remain subject to investigations and the data that will emerge regarding the accident.
