The appearance of this version comes despite the fact that Samsung has not yet completed the launch of the One UI 9 interface in its stable version, which reflects that the company is working on developing two generations of the interface simultaneously.
The leaked images reveal a clear change in design philosophy, and hint at what the Galaxy S27 series may look like when it is launched.
The design of One UI 9.5 is based on a semi-transparent appearance inspired by glass, with light shadows around floating elements, and brighter edges in menus and buttons. The audio control unit also received a complete redesign, to appear deeper and have a stronger visual presence.
The appearance of the Now Brief tool on the main screen has changed, as its background has become shaded and separated from the rest of the screen elements, instead of being fully integrated as it was in previous versions.
At the level of use, Samsung moved the search button in the phone application to the floating bottom bar, to make it easier to access it with one hand, a practical step more than a cosmetic one, especially with the enlargement of screen sizes.
The interface also adds the App Lock feature to lock applications with a fingerprint or password, a feature that exists in other companies but is arriving on Samsung phones for the first time. The changes also include a new way to share data for Wi-Fi networks via a QR code within the bottom bar itself.
One UI 9.5 is expected to officially debut with the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027, before later moving to other eligible devices. But the current build is only an early internal build, which means many details may change before the final release.
