The army commander inspected south of Litani and coordinated with UNIFIL

The army commander, General Rudolph Haykal, visited the general headquarters of “UNIFIL” in Naqoura, where he was received by the UNIFIL commander, General Diodato Abnara and a number of officers. An expanded meeting was held to address the means of cooperation and coordination between “UNIFIL” and the army and implementing Resolution 1701. The army commander also visited the Bennaw Barakat barracks in Tire, and met the commander of the South Litani sector, Brigadier General Nicolas Tabet and a number of officers and military personnel. Then he moved south towards the town of Al -Bayadah and inspected the leadership of the Fifth Brigade and met the commander of the brigade, officers and military personnel there. He also visited the Francois Al -Hajj barracks in Marjayoun.
The tour came hours after the forensic Ali Al -Taher was exposed to the northern outskirts of the town of Nabatiyeh, for the fourth time after the 66 -day war stopped for a violent wave of raids carried out by the Israeli warplanes for nearly five and ten minutes at dawn. Al -Mugheera planes threw a number of concussion missiles, which caused an explosion, which resonated in various southern regions, forming a fireplace, and caused large fires in the forests. The raids also caused damage and cracks in dozens of homes in neighborhoods near the targeted places, as well as the glass of a large number of homes and shops.
The Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraei, said that the Israeli army “raided a site that was used to manage fire and defense in the terrorist Hezbollah in the Jabal Shaqif area in southern Lebanon, where terrorist activities were monitored inside the site. The raids targeted combat means, military buildings and underground infrastructure.” He added: “The presence of the site in the region and the terrorist activities that carry out inside it is a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, as the Defense Army will continue to work to remove any threat to the State of Israel.”
The UNIFIL forces issued a statement saying: “Yesterday, the Israeli army delivered bombs near the peacekeeping forces that were operating alongside the Lebanese army to secure the protection of civilian workers in the town of Maroun Al -Ras, where they were removing the rubble resulting from the destruction of homes due to the war.
About 11:30 am, peacekeeping elements heard in two different locations, a bomb explosion near a neck, about 500 meters from them. Moments later, the first group watched a managing overlooking them, followed by an explosion between 30 and 40 meters of them. About 20 minutes later, the second group monitored another prisoner who threw a bomb that exploded 20 meters over their heads.
It should be noted that the UNIFIL forces had previously informed the Israeli army of these actions, and immediately demanded a ceasefire. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the works were later completed.
Any attack on the forces of peacekeeping or obstructing the tasks entrusted to them shows an underestimation of the safety and security of the UNIFIL soldiers and the Lebanese army, and the stability that they seek to consolidate in southern Lebanon. These actions also constitute a serious violation of Security Council Resolution 1701. UNIFIL calls on the Israeli army to immediately stop any attacks against or near peacekeeping forces, as well as against Lebanese civilians and soldiers, and allow us to perform the tasks assigned to us without any obstruction.
