The national meeting rejects the Trump deal and demands the support of Gaza

The “national meeting” held its periodic meeting, and discussed the articulated developments in the Palestinian issue and the situation in the region, confirming his categorical rejection of the Trump deal on Gaza, and any attempt to legitimize the siege and impose surrender to the Palestinian people.
The statement issued by the meeting indicated that “any project seeks to subjugate the region to a new guardian or a colonial war council is an attempt to recycle the defeat in a rejected political form, and we do not recognize its legitimacy.” The meeting called on the Arab countries to move in practice to support Gaza through immediate and disciplined initiatives, such as sending two naval and brilliant fleets to provide assistance and breaking the siege, while adhering to international law and protecting civilians. For the fleet of steadfastness and the activists participating in it, considering that they brought back to public opinion a vivid picture of the civil resistance and the right of the Palestinian people to liberation, and described the fleet as “a noble solidarity work that shows the ability to confront international freezing policies.” As for the Lebanese internal situation, the meeting stressed the necessity of holding elections according to a constitutional framework that protects Lebanon’s interests and guarantees its sovereignty, with the application of what was stipulated in the Taif Agreement so that the country is one electoral circle, Stressing that the elections must strengthen the national and democratic position, not that a tool for external pressure is transformed. The “meeting” called on the government to develop a comprehensive national plan that takes into account the deteriorating material capacity of citizens, and includes:
– Support for hospitals and emergency allocations for medicines and treatment.
Programs to protect poor families and the purchasing power of the most affected citizens.
– An educational emergency plan to ensure the continuation of education in public schools and the Lebanese University, while controlling fees in private schools. The statement confirmed that any failure in the face of Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, calling on the authorities to assume their full responsibilities to protect citizens and infrastructure.
