The leaves of 500 thousand, one million and 5 million are soon in the markets … and warn of the step

The House of Representatives approved last Monday amending some of the paragraphs of the “Criticism and Credit Law” to allow the Bank of Lebanon to print the papers of 500 thousand pounds, one million and 5 million. Will it be close to circulation?
A financial expert through “Lebanon 24” pointed out that “the news of printing banknotes from the large groups was circulated a while ago, but it was found that there are clauses in the cash and credit law that hinders the process of printing these papers, so they were modified so that the Bank of Lebanon can start this process,” warning that “this matter will lead to a negative reaction as the volume of liquidity in the Lebanese market will increase.” He stressed that “we have become in the last stages of printing new cash categories because it is not possible to continue the state’s financial policy without printing papers from large groups.” While several financial experts warned of the currency printing scenario because of the caveats it contains, others saw that he became urgent to print banknotes from large categories because confidence can only be restored to the lira unless a trading and saving tool returns in the market.
