From Openai … Get to know this new feature within ChatGPT

Openai has announced the launch of a new feature called “Instant Checkout” within the Chatgpt application, which enables users to buy products directly from ETSY and Shopify stores without the need to leave the application.

According to the company, Chatgpt will be able to search for the user’s products, and if available on the ETSY or Shopify platform, the “Buy” button will appear to be completed to complete the payment using the previously recorded card or through other payment options.

The new feature is based on the Agentic Commerce protocol from Stripe, which is currently available for Chatgpt users within Plus and Pro plans, as well as users in the free version within the United States.

The feature in its first stages supports the purchase of only one product, to be later supported by adding several shopping vehicle products, with expansion to include merchants and other countries around the world. As of now, merchants can submit their requests to join the service by building their own integration.

Openai emphasized that the products available via the new feature will not have a priority in the search results within ChatGPT, as the results are determined according to criteria that include price, quality and availability, in addition to the fact that the immediate purchase option is active, in order to ensure a balanced experience for the user.
