The Israeli newspaper Maariv, in an article by writer Abraham Baloukh titled “National Security is in danger: This is how the end of the State of Israel may reach” that Israel is facing an unprecedented stage of political isolation on the international scene, which reached the point of direct impact on its economy and its cultural and sports sector, and the most dangerous to its army’s readiness and its ability to protect the Hebrew state.
According to the article, a sub -committee in the Knesset will hold an urgent session to discuss this reality, amid fears that the session will turn into a secrecy to display sensitive data related to national security.
The article indicated that political isolation has begun to strike various sectors: the Israeli economy is under pressure, Tel Aviv’s participation in European competitions such as “Eurovision” has become doubt, and Israeli sports face the possibility of exclusion from international forums. However, the greatest danger, according to the article, lies in the disruption of weapons and ammunition supplies as a result of some allied countries stopped providing Israel with military equipment, missiles and ammunition that are described as “critical” for their security, which may weaken the ability of the Israeli army to face military challenges.
The importance here is that isolation does not come from countries that are traditional opponents of Tel Aviv, but rather from allied countries such as Germany. This is what the writer described as “the elephant in the room”: Why did friendly countries begin to back down from Israel’s support? What can the Netanyahu government do other than that of everyone’s accusation of “anti -Semitism”?
The article concluded by warning that the issue is no longer limited to the image of Israel abroad, but rather threatens its economic and security future, and reveals fragility in its international relations, which may be reflected directly on its military and political behavior in the region, including Lebanon and Palestine.
