The world and the Arab region will witness, next Sunday evening, September 7, a fully eclipse of the moon that can be followed with the naked eye completely safely, and is one of the most prominent astronomical phenomena for the year 2025, coinciding with the completion of Badr al -Awwal 1447 AH.

According to the National Institute for Astronomical Research, the eclipse stages continue for about five hours and 27 minutes, including an hour and 22 minutes during which the moon is in a total eclipse. The phenomenon begins at 6:28 pm Cairo time by entering the moon, the semi -shadow area, and the partial eclipse begins at 7:27 pm, while the total eclipse is completed at 8:31 pm and its climax reaches 9:12 pm, with the phenomenon to end completely at 11:55 pm.

The eclipse will be clearly visible in large regions that include Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas, in addition to the northern and southern poles. The appearance of the moon in red or orange is explained by the eclipse of the sun’s rays through the Earth’s atmosphere and its passage with dust and gases.

Experts pointed out that this phenomenon also carries scientific importance, as it helps to confirm the beginnings of the Hijri months, as the eclipse occurs only when the full moon is complete and the land, the moon and the sun are lined up on one line. The National Institute for Astronomical Research in Egypt will organize a special effectiveness to enable the public to follow the eclipse directly, including lectures and introductory seminars on this rare astronomical phenomenon.
