The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today, Monday, that “the decision of the government of Lebanon to disarm Hizbullah until the end of 2025 is essential,” noting that “Israel appreciates Lebanon’s steps on restricting weapons.”

In a statement, he stressed that Lebanon’s decision to limit weapons is an opportunity to restore its sovereignty and build its institutions. He revealed that “Israel is ready to support Lebanon in its efforts to disarm Hizbullah.” He announced that Israel would gradually reduce its presence in Lebanon if he succeeds in disarming the party.
He explained that “it is time to work with Lebanon with a spirit of cooperation with the aim of disarming the party.”
