3 countries calling on the United Nations to prevent sanctions on Iran

The foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and China have re -sent a message to the Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, calling for the Security Council not to allow the European “Troika” countries to re -impose sanctions on Iran.

This comes after the British, Germany and France foreign ministers announced last week, in a joint statement, that they notified the UN Security Council to launch the “immediate restoration” mechanism of sanctions on Iran within 30 days, known as “Snapback”. Russian, Iranian, and Chinese foreign ministers Sergey Lavrov, Abbas Araqji and Puang Yi said: “We urge the United Nations Security Council members to reject the initiative of France, Germany and Britain Relating to activating the mechanism of restoring sanctions, and emphasizing their commitment to the principles of international law and multilateral diplomacy.
