“ArabNews” published a new report, which posed a basic question: “Where are the Arab supporters of Iran disappeared?”
The report, translated by “Lebanon 24”, says that “a silent silence was bored on the Arab street, not affected by the wave of dramatic events in the region,” and added: “We have not seen demonstrations, protests or sit -ins in the Arab countries, and this is the first time in 7 decades or more that such demonstrations disappear.”
The report considered that “what happened to Iran is not an easy matter, as its military losses and nuclear facilities are enormous, as it cost billions of dollars in what has been made of hard efforts to build it.”
He continued: “When the Lebanese government made its bold decision to confiscate the Hizbullah weapon, the response was limited to a few dozen motorcycles that roamed the streets of Beirut in protest. In the 1967 war. The Nasserist regime, which was founded by the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, lost its ability to mobilize the street, and resorted to relying on its socialist members and their trade unions to attend the events, after the number of masses that fill the arenas fill in enthusiasm and spontaneity in response to the radio calls that dominated the awareness of people and their feelings for nearly two decades. A feeling of shock and betrayal prevailed throughout the region that was waiting for the liberation of Palestine.
He continued: “Iran, too, had previously enjoyed the domination and popular support in the region, challenging attempts to withhold its ideas and curb its activities. It succeeded in raising generations of Arabs over its ideas, while Tehran opened its doors and arms to extremists, including the leaders of al -Qaeda, ignoring their anti -Shiite ideology, and supported most of the groups and movements opposed to Iran. Important and deeply coordinated relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood.
He continued: “Tehran has spent huge sums to winning Arab politicians and intellectuals. Likewise, Tehran gathered the Shiites, Sunnis and Arab Christians alike. Also, Iran has inferred many Arab media to promote the line of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Sometimes, it is difficult to understand how it succeeded in reconciling all these contradictions.”
The report notes that “Tehran was running elite and popular moves in dozens of Arab cities; protests against novels, films, negotiations and regimes. But in recent wars, after the October 2023 attack, the type of mobilization that we used to in every confrontation faded. The Arab street is tired of the victorious hero until it falls, then it is replaced by another hero.
He continued: “The followers of the Iranian regime have been shaken by successive defeats, as the Nasserites were fascinated by the setbacks of the 1960s. Currently, the remaining challenge is to maintain the Iranian regime on its supporters within its popular Shiite base; they are the most affected and still live the shock.”
He concluded: “With the passage of time, the Shiites of Lebanon will realize the fact that they are victims of Hezbollah and Iran, and that they have a burden without support. For 4 decades, they have endured confrontation with Israel and the consequences of relations with Iran economic and personal sanctions, destroy their areas and neighborhoods, and target their financial transfers from Africa, the Americas, and others.”
