Today, Saturday, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied what was published by press sources regarding the signing of a prospective security agreement between Syria and Israel on September 25.
In its response to the Syria TV website, the Coordination and Communication Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that what was circulated regarding the signing of any security agreement between the two sides is “exile”. Earlier, the “Independent Arab” newspaper quoted “high -level Syrian sources” that Syria and Israel will sign a security agreement under the auspices of the United States on the 25th of next September. Asaad Al -Shaibani met in Paris an Israeli delegation to discuss a number of files related to reducing escalation and promoting stability in the region, at a meeting under American sponsorship. The agency stated that the discussions focused on stopping interference in the internal Syrian affairs, promoting stability in southern Syria, monitoring the ceasefire in the Suwayda Governorate, and re -activating the 1974 engagement agreement that provides for the suspension of combat actions between Syria and Israel and the supervision of a force UN on the demilitarized region. SANA indicated that the talks come within the framework of “American diplomatic efforts to enhance security and stability in Syria and preserve the unity and integrity of its lands.” This meeting is an extension of a similar meeting that Paris hosted in late July between Al -Shaibani and the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Derrir, at a time when diplomatic sources spoke about other direct meetings between the two parties in the capital Azerbaijan Baku.
