
The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture signed a cooperation agreement with the Seal and Economic Action for Lebanon, an American -Lebanese non -governmental and non -profit organization founded in 1997 in New York with the support of Lebanese expatriates, and aims to support agricultural and rural societies in Lebanon.
The move comes within the framework of the Ministry’s strategy to enhance agricultural innovation and improve productivity, and in the context of efforts to develop farmers’ skills and provide them with modern tools and technologies in sustainable agriculture, which is reflected in improving the quality of production and increasing the economic return. The agreement guarantees the implementation of a specialized training program that targets Lebanese farmers in the field of trimming fruit trees according to the latest standards and agricultural technologies, which contributes to improving the productivity of trees And the quality of the fruits, in addition to enhancing the health of trees in the long term. 3,300 scissors and electrical saws that work on the battery for farmers registered in the official agricultural registry will be secured, which enables them to apply modern technologies easily and efficiently, and reduces physical effort and operational costs. The Minister of Agriculture Dr. Nizar Hani confirmed during the signing of the agreement, that this initiative comes within the Ministry’s vision to enable the Lebanese farms With the knowledge and techniques necessary to face challenges and achieve high -quality agricultural production in line with international standards.
