Fouad Makhzoumi: The state restores its sovereignty in the camps, a basic step to protect Lebanon

Representative Fouad Makhzoumi wrote on the “X” platform that handing over a quantity of weapons in the Burj Al -Barajneh camp constitutes a first step in the right direction to extend the state’s authority over the camps, stressing the need to cooperate between the Lebanese state and the Palestinian national authority.
Makhzoumi said: “It is time for the state to restore its sovereignty and cancel the duplication of weapons,” Makhzoumi said. He added: “We support the military establishment, which will present before the end of August the plan to disarm with a timetable until the end of this year, in implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers, and we say to those who target the army with the campaigns of intimidation and incitement that this institution is the reference for preserving sovereignty and stability.”
