The Lebanese Association for Statistics, Training and Development has announced its deep concern about the continuous rise in traffic accidents on the Lebanese roads, which daily harvest the lives of citizens and cause severe human and economic losses.
The association explained that the statistics of the Internal Security Forces – the traffic control room indicate that Lebanon was registered in 2023 about 2,303 accidents that killed 439 people and injured about 2,726 others, and these figures rose in 2024 to 2,365 accidents, 443 people, and 2,655 wounded, while in the first five months of 2025, 876 accidents occurred that resulted in 162 Deadly and more than 1,034 wounded. The association warned of the chaos resulting from the spread of unregistered motorcycles that are traveling without legal panels or papers, noting that they convert the roads into open risks. It also warned of the phenomenon of driving minors, where children and adolescents lead cars and bicycles without a license or awareness of the dangers of the road, considering this as a blatant violation of the law and a direct exposure to life. In addition to using the phone while driving. Ramadan also called to enhance traffic control by activating radars and cameras and increasing the presence of security forces on the roads, and ensuring that all vehicles are subject to compulsory technical examination, organizing the motorcycle market and controlling the illegal driving of minors. And to protect the lives of citizens, stressing that the association puts its expertise and capabilities in the service of the official and private authorities to achieve this goal.
