Manchester City rejected Barcelona’s second offer to sign Spaniard Rodri during the summer transfer period, according to press reports.
The City Extra network reported that the Catalan offer amounted to 51.3 million pounds sterling, in addition to 5 million pounds in incentives, but City management informed Barcelona of the need to raise the amount to 70 million pounds.
Rodri was a major target for Real Madrid, and he expressed his willingness to move to him, before his position changed with the club’s management delay in finalizing the deal and Barcelona entering the negotiating line.
It was reported that a number of Barcelona players in the Spanish national team encouraged Rodri to study the Catalan club’s offer, which prompted him to reconsider his next destination.
