In general, magnets used in phone cases, car mounts, and wireless charging systems do not pose a risk to modern phones.

Pictures, applications, messages, and contacts are not stored on magnetic disks. Rather, phones rely on flash memory, and therefore ordinary magnets cannot erase phone data.

But the potential problem is usually not related to damage to the phone, but rather temporary interference with some sensitive sensors and components.

The phone contains a magnetic sensor, or magnetometer, that helps determine directions and operate navigation and compass applications.

When a strong magnet is placed nearby, direction readings may become inaccurate or the compass may behave abnormally.

Very strong magnetic fields can also temporarily affect the autofocus and optical image stabilization systems in some cameras.

The user may notice blurry images or difficulty focusing while the magnet is near the camera module, and these effects usually disappear after the magnet is removed.

Unlike some older electronic devices, regular magnets can’t erase photos, videos, apps or messages from a modern phone.

Lithium-ion batteries used in phones are usually not damaged by normal magnetic fields, and magnets do not discharge their charge.

The real problem with the battery points more to overheating, physical damage, or the use of poor-quality charging accessories, rather than to the magnet itself. (Erm News)
