Libyan player Fahd Al-Mesmari, the star of the Tunisian Club Africain, issued a warning to his club’s management, threatening to terminate his contract during the current summer transfer period, in light of the ongoing dispute between the two parties over his financial dues.
The African Club is going through a period of turmoil despite winning the Tunisian League title, after witnessing the departure of a number of its most prominent players, led by Osama Al-Suhili, Hamza Ben Abda, Moataz Al-Zamzmi, and Tawfiq Al-Sherifi, in addition to continuing uncertainty regarding the future of striker Firas Shawat. The administration also signed coach Maher El Kenzari to lead the team, succeeding Faouzi Benzarti.
Al-Mesmari did not have sufficient participation opportunities during the last season under the leadership of Bizertin, which led him to think about leaving, especially with reports that he received offers to return to the Libyan League during the summer Mercato.
The player’s contract with the African Club extends until June 2028, and the club’s management was betting when signing him on developing his level and then marketing him in the future, similar to the experience of the player Ali Youssef, but this did not materialize, after Al-Mesmari remained on the bench for long periods.
According to informed sources, the player is relying on a clause in his contract that gives him the right to receive a financial reward of $100,000 if the African participates in the African Champions League, which he confirms he has not yet received.
The sources added that the club’s management is trying to reach a settlement with the player, whether by reducing the value of the amount, paying it in installments, or persuading him to give up part of it, but Al-Mismari adheres to his full right, demanding that all details related to the contract be discussed with his agent, as he is the authority authorized to follow up on this file.
