Prime Minister Nawaf Salam yesterday made an official visit to Jordan, during which the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II, met, who affirmed “Jordan’s full support for Lebanon in enhancing its security and preserving its sovereignty,” according to a statement by the Hashemite Royal Court. During the meeting, in the presence of Crown Prince Al -Hussein and Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, King Abdullah indicated “the importance of expanding cooperation between Jordan and Lebanon in various fields, especially economic,” stressing “sustaining coordination with brotherly and friendly countries to achieve regional stability.

Salam met with his Jordanian counterpart, Jaafar Hassan, who stressed that “the Israeli operation and its continuation of Lebanese territory is convicted,” stressing “the necessity of completing the ceasefire agreement completely and stopping the ongoing attacks on Lebanese territory.” In turn, Salam praised the role of Jordan led by King Abdullah II in supporting Lebanon and standing by it in all stages, “and stressed that it is” historical and strategic positions. ” He considered that “Israel is from isolation to isolation in the world in light of its measures in Gaza and the West Bank.” He pointed out that “Jordan’s voice is heard in the world and Lebanon needs this role at this stage in which it is going through.”
Salam also declared, “We are standing one row with other Arab and Islamic countries in its categorical rejection of Netanyahu’s statements regarding the so -called” Greater Israel “.
It was agreed that the Jordanian -Lebanese Supreme Committee shall hold its meeting during the current year, to focus on trade, transportation and energy, to expand cooperation in it during the coming period.
