The future of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri with the Saudi club Al-Ittihad has returned to the circle of controversy, in light of reports indicating the possibility of his departure during the current summer transfer period.
Al-Nusairi, 28 years old, has not succeeded in providing the expected performance since joining the team, which prompted Al-Ittihad management to reconsider its attacking options in preparation for next season.
The Moroccan striker played 15 matches for Al-Ittihad, during which he scored 7 goals and made one assist, after moving from Turkey’s Fenerbahce in a deal worth about 15 million euros, to compensate for the absence of Frenchman Karim Benzema.
According to the Turkish newspaper “Ajansspor”, the Al-Ittihad administration is moving to dispense with Al-Nusairi as part of the plan to rebuild the team, in conjunction with its efforts to sign a new foreign striker.
The newspaper indicated that club officials have decided on their position on the player, with the possibility of an official announcement regarding his future being issued in the coming days.
Previous reports had spoken of the interest of Al-Shabab and Al-Qadisiyah clubs in including Al-Nusairi on loan, while sources close to the player previously denied news of his departure, confirming his continuation with the team.
