The Iranian Ministry of Energy announced the start of preliminary discussions with Türkiye to discuss the possibility of importing electricity to supply petrochemical complexes whose energy infrastructure was damaged during the recent war.

The Ministry explained that the Deputy Minister of Energy for Electricity and Energy Affairs, Mustafa Rajabi Mashhadi, went to Turkey to hold preliminary talks on the mechanism for importing electricity, as part of the government’s efforts to address the shortage of electrical supplies in the petrochemical sector.

She added that the plan requires, in the event of reaching an agreement, providing the needs of the affected industrial complexes for electricity imported from Turkey, with the participation of the private sector, in a way that contributes to restoring the activity of these facilities and reducing the effects of the damage they sustained.
