The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, presented with the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, the course of work in rehabilitating Rene Moawad Airport in Klayaat, and the readiness of Rafic Hariri International Airport for traffic during the summer, in addition to strengthening the international road network.
President Aoun also received the German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt Georg Stückel-Stielfried, on a farewell visit on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic duties, and awarded him the National Cedar Medal with the rank of Grand Officer, in appreciation of his efforts to strengthen Lebanese-German relations and develop them in various fields.
President Aoun received MPs Waddah Al-Sadiq and Mark Daou, and discussed with them the general situation and current developments.
Representative Waddah Al-Sadiq said: “We are going through a historic time, and we are fighting the most important battle to restore sovereignty and stability, and the president informed us of the framework agreement that was reached in Washington.”
He added: “The Lebanese are faced with a clear choice: to stand by the state and its institutions or to remain within the axes that brought devastation to Lebanon,” noting that the necessity of supporting the army was stressed within the framework of the Pilot Zone implementation.
For his part, Representative Mark Daou stressed that “the unity of the state behind an independent national option strengthens Lebanon’s ability to negotiate away from any regional negotiations in which Lebanon is not at the table.”
Daou stressed that “the main reliance is on the army institution,” stressing that “we have complete confidence in it and the security situation is stable,” and hoping that “President Nabih Berri and all political forces will stand behind the state and its official institutions because Lebanon has an important opportunity.”
