Apple announced its new update to the watchOS 27 smart watch operating system, which introduces a radical change in the way the Home Screen is displayed for the first time in years.

The new design relies on what Apple calls the dynamic network of applications, which becomes the default option when using the watch.

According to the company, this new design not only displays applications traditionally, but also highlights the most frequently used applications and those suggested by the smart assistant Siri, while making the Siri application almost always in the center of the interface.

One of the most notable changes in watchOS 27 is the deeper integration of artificial intelligence technologies through Siri AI, which is the advanced version of the voice assistant that has become more capable of understanding context and performing tasks within applications.

The new system allows users to interact with Siri directly from the watch interface, whether to play music, send messages, or adjust fitness goals, with the ability to seamlessly follow the conversation between different Apple devices. This transformation makes the watch closer to a smart assistant on the wrist rather than just a notification display device.

In the new update, pressing the Digital Crown opens the new home screen instead of directly displaying the traditional network of applications as in previous versions.

Five suggested applications appear to the user in the middle, with the ability to access the full list of applications via an additional option at the bottom of the screen, which makes navigation faster and smarter, but at the same time imposes a new style of use on users accustomed to the old design.
Additional improvements

In addition to redesigning the home screen, watchOS 27 includes a group of other improvements, most notably the development of health and fitness tracking features, improvements to the Workout Buddy feature supported by artificial intelligence, the addition of a new gesture that allows controlling the watch by tapping between the thumb and index finger, and improving application suggestions within the smart interface.
