Reda Slim’s loan to the Royal Moroccan Army ended, and he returned to the ranks of Al-Ahly awaiting a decision on his future by the new technical director, Moroccan Hussein Amouta, who recently took over the job, succeeding Danish Yas Torop.
According to a report by the “On Sports” channel, “Rida Selim did not receive his salary from Al-Ahly during his loan period to the Royal Army, even though the club was committed to paying his salary, and the value of the late dues amounts to about 235 thousand dollars, which prompts the player to consider filing a complaint with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), or unilaterally terminating his contract in accordance with the regulations.”
The report added: “The player does not want to cause a crisis, and prefers to end the file amicably, but if he decides to terminate his contract, he will receive the full value of his annual contract, which amounts to about $940,000, and not just the equivalent of three months.”
Al-Ahly is currently suffering from an overcrowding in the list of foreign players, as it includes seven professionals: Nates Gradishar, Ashraf Dari, Ashraf Ben Sharqi, Mohamed Al-Dawy “Christo”, Youssef Belamri, Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, and Reda Selim.
Al-Ahly management is seeking to dispense with four foreign players from this list, to make room for signing a new attacking duo during the summer transfer period, in preparation for the next season.
