In the second beta version of the iOS 27 operating system, Apple added a set of improvements to the “Messages” application.

In this context, Apple launched the new update, which includes noticeable improvements in the performance of the Messages application, with a special focus on developing the conversation experience via the RCS protocol used in communication between iPhone and Android.

According to technical reports, the new update reflects Apple’s move towards reducing the gap between the iMessage service and messaging services across different systems, by introducing features that were until recently exclusive within the Apple system.

One of the most notable additions in iOS 27 is support for inline replies, a feature that allows users to respond directly to a specific message within a conversation, similar to the traditional iMessage experience.

The method of displaying Reactions within conversations has also been improved, as emojis now appear correctly on photos and videos sent via RCS, instead of descriptive text messages that appeared in previous versions.

These updates are part of the RCS 2.7 standard; This indicates that more improvements may arrive later as support for this protocol develops.

In addition to the RCS protocol improvements, Apple added in the iOS 27 update a set of general features to the “Messages” application, which included improvements supported by artificial intelligence to understand the context of conversations and provide more accurate suggestions.

The update also included developing the Smart Reply feature to become more personalized to the user, and the ability to create direct drawings within conversations using new drawing tools, in addition to performance improvements such as accelerating the downloading of messages and synchronizing them across devices.
