The Mexico national team achieved an important victory over the Czech Republic, 3-0, in the match that brought them together during the 2026 World Cup.








The match started in a balanced rhythm, with early attempts from the Czech Republic, as Denis Vyshinsky shot a close-range ball in the eighth minute that passed the goal, before Michal Sadlik tried with another shot in the 12th minute that went over the goal. The Czech team continued to threaten the Mexican goal, but did not succeed in translating its chances into a goal.

On the other hand, the Mexican team tried to gradually enter the atmosphere of the match, and threatened the Czech goal in the last minutes of the first half, most notably through Israel Reyes and Roberto Alvarado, in addition to an attempt by Julian Quiñones in stoppage time that went slightly over the goal.

The first half ended in a 0-0 draw, after minutes that witnessed a cooling stop and an injury to Michal Sadilek.

At the beginning of the second half, Lukas Scherf almost gave the Czech Republic the lead with a shot that was blocked by the Mexican defense, before the Mexican team succeeded in opening the scoring in the 55th minute through Mateo Chavez, who shot a ball with his left foot from the middle of the penalty area to the left corner of the ground, after a pass from Luis Romo.

After the goal, the Czech national team made a substitution with Lukács Provod replacing Denis Visinski, but Mexico returned to strengthen its lead in the 61st minute, after Julian Quiñones scored the second goal from close range, following a pass from Jorge Sanchez after a counterattack.

The Mexican national team brought on Santiago Jimenez and Obed Vargas in the 63rd minute, while the Czech national team made two substitutions with the entry of Patrik Schick and Tomas Soucek. Edson Alvarez received a yellow card in the 64th minute, before the Czech Republic continued its attempts through corners and long shots, without changing the result.

In the 72nd minute, Alvaro Fidalgo replaced Gilberto Moura, before Julian Quinones wasted another opportunity for Mexico with a header over the goal in the 77th minute. The Mexican team also made two substitutions in the 78th minute, with Francisco Ochoa replacing Raul Rangel, and Jesus Gallardo replacing Mateo Chavez.

The Czech national team tried to reduce the difference in the last minutes, especially through David Dodera and Pavel Schulz, but its attempts went outside the goal. In stoppage time, Mexico settled the result with a third goal scored by Alvaro Fidalgo in the 90th + 4th minute, with a right-footed shot from the middle of the penalty area to the top left corner, after a pass from Roberto Alvarado.

The match ended with Mexico defeating the Czech Republic 3-0, after scoring its three goals in the second half.
