The annual change in the consumer price index in May 2026 recorded 19.04 percent, compared to May 2025.
As for the monthly change in the consumer price index for the month of May at the governorate level, it recorded the following percentages: At the governorate level, the following percentages were recorded:
– An increase in Beirut Governorate of 0.35 percent.
– An increase in Mount Lebanon Governorate of 0.58 percent.
– An increase in the North Governorate of 0.37 percent.
– An increase in the Bekaa Governorate of 0.39 percent.
– An increase in the South Governorate of 0.82 percent.
– A decrease in Nabatieh Governorate of 0.03 percent.
A note on the price collection process
Due to the continuation of the current conditions, the process of collecting prices is still facing difficulties, especially in Nabatieh Governorate, where the consumer price index was calculated based on a large number of estimated prices (IMPUTED Prices) as a result of the inability to collect most of the actual prices.
