The Lebanese Army leadership called on citizens to be patient in returning to the southern border villages and towns, despite the atmosphere that accompanied the announcement of reaching an agreement and stopping military actions in the region.

The Army Command confirmed, in a statement issued by the Directorate of Orientation, that field conditions still call for caution, calling on the people to adhere to the directives of the deployed military units in order to preserve their safety, in light of the continuing risks of Israeli violations and attacks.

The leadership stressed the need to exercise caution in areas that have been subjected to bombing and targeting during the past period, and not to approach unexploded ordnance or suspicious objects, and to report them immediately to the nearest army center or the relevant security forces.

The army’s statement comes at a time when a limited return movement of people to a number of southern villages has begun, coinciding with the municipalities, civil defense teams, health authority, and Al-Resala Association opening roads and removing obstacles left by the raids and damage.

Municipalities and concerned authorities also continue to issue appeals calling on citizens to be patient and not to rush to return before clear official directives are issued and to ensure the stability of the security situation and the safety of roads, homes and infrastructure.

These warnings gain special importance in light of the spread of bombing remnants and unexploded ordnance in a number of border areas, which poses a direct danger to civilians returning to their towns after months of displacement and escalation.
