The Turkish Minister of Transport said, in an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya.net from Riyadh, that the details of the financial cost of the railway connection between Riyadh and Ankara will become clear soon.
Oglu continued: “We expect Iraq to enter the Saudi-Turkish railway connection, and the Gulf countries will join the railway connection between Saudi Arabia and Turkey.”
He added that ways to develop bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkey were discussed, in addition to discussing special developments following the hot conflicts that the region witnessed, and alternatives for land and rail transport were also reviewed in light of the current conditions.
He explained that the Saudi-Turkish railway link project starts from Saudi Arabia, through Jordan, to Syria, and reaches Turkey.
Oglu said that Saudi Arabia has ended the railway network that reaches the Jordanian border, and Türkiye has reached the Syrian border, leaving the Jordanian and Syrian parts remaining.
