In a new indication of the expanding escalation in southern Lebanon, the Israeli army issued an urgent warning to the residents of a number of towns located in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region, calling on them to evacuate their homes immediately and stay away from residential areas.
The warning included the towns of Jbaa, Humayn al-Fawqa, and Arki, where the Israeli army called on residents to leave their homes and head to open lands at a distance of no less than 1,000 meters from the aforementioned towns and villages.
The Israeli army claimed in its statement that Hezbollah violated the ceasefire agreement and targeted the Israeli home front, considering that this prompted it to carry out military operations in these areas.
He also warned against being near Hezbollah members or its facilities and combat means, claiming that anyone in their vicinity puts his life in danger.
This warning comes hours after similar warnings affected the towns of Arzi and Al-Zararia and the Kawthariya Al-Raz farm in the Al-Zahrani area, coinciding with a series of Israeli raids that targeted several areas in the south, from Sidon and Al-Zahrani to Nabatieh and Tyre.
These warnings raise fears of expanding Israeli military operations towards new areas deep in the south, especially in the Iqlim al-Tuffah area, which has witnessed, during the past hours, intense flights of military aircraft and drones.
Issuing warnings to towns north of the Litani River reflects an escalating trend in military operations, amid continuing field confrontations and existing tension despite political and diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire. These developments also come at a time when the ongoing negotiations under American auspices are witnessing attempts to push the parties towards broader security understandings, while the field escalation continues to impose its facts on the ground.
