In a field step aimed at reassuring the people and refuting the Israeli allegations, the mayor of Tyre, Engineer Hassan Dabouq, accompanied by members of the municipal council, Walid Al-Taweel and Allen Baradei, Father Marius Khairallah, and the head of the Lebanese Army Intelligence Office in Tyre, Colonel Muhammad Hazer, toured the Christian neighborhood in the city of Tyre, following the Israeli warning that targeted the area during the past hours.
The tour included inspecting the neighborhoods of the old neighborhood and learning about the conditions of citizens, in light of the atmosphere that prevailed in the city after the Israeli warnings. The participants in the tour confirmed that the Israeli allegations regarding the presence of Hezbollah elements inside the Christian neighborhood were incorrect.
The “Lebanon Debate” correspondent reported that the city of Tire, especially the Christian neighborhood, witnessed a limited displacement movement following the Israeli warning, but its pace remained light, while units of the Lebanese army deployed inside the region with the aim of providing an atmosphere of reassurance and safety for the residents and enhancing stability.
These developments come after the escalation of Israeli warnings towards the city of Tyre, and the accompanying fears among residents about the possibility of expanding attacks to affect residential neighborhoods within the city.
The Israeli army spokeswoman, Ella Wawiyeh, had published on the “X” platform a post in which she claimed that dozens of Hezbollah members were active inside the Christian neighborhood in the city of Tyre, and she sent direct messages to the residents of the area and to the party’s members.
Wawiyya claimed that the Israeli army had issued an evacuation warning to areas in the city of Tire last week against the backdrop of what it described as Hezbollah’s activity and violation of the ceasefire agreement, noting that the Christian neighborhood was not included in that warning.
It also claimed that the Israeli army recently monitored the activity of dozens of Hezbollah members inside the Christian neighborhood, considering that this is not the first time it has spoken about the party’s activity inside Christian areas.
Wawiyah sent a message to the members of the Christian community in the city of Tyre, in which she called for demanding the removal of party members from the area. She also warned party members in the city that they “are not safe,” stressing that the Israeli army will issue instructions to evacuate the Christian neighborhood and will take measures if their presence and activity within the area continues, as she put it.
