In a remarkable political and diplomatic move, the Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary Bloc sent a memorandum to Arab and foreign embassies about what it described as “the Israeli aggression against Lebanon,” accusing Israel of continuing to violate the ceasefire agreement signed with American mediation on November 27, 2024, and of continuing to target civilians and Lebanese infrastructure.
The bloc said, in the memorandum addressed on behalf of its president and members to the concerned governments through its embassies, that the world is witnessing “an American attempt to impose new rules on international relations by force,” considering that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “the first investor in this American arrogance,” after he “dragged the United States into a war against Iran and escalated the aggression against Lebanon.”
The bloc considered that Israel did not adhere to the cessation of hostilities agreement, despite Lebanon’s commitment to it, noting that the Israeli violations exceeded “ten thousand violations,” in conjunction with continuous Israeli threats to establish a buffer zone in southern Lebanon and control parts of its territory.
She stressed that the political and diplomatic efforts undertaken by the Lebanese state and the communications conducted by the bloc with Lebanese and international officials “did not succeed in stopping the Israeli crimes,” accusing the committee charged with implementing the “mechanism” agreement of not doing its role.
In an escalating stance, the bloc stressed that the “legitimate right to self-defense” remains the option available to the Lebanese in light of the continued occupation and attacks, considering that this right is guaranteed by international conventions and the ministerial statement of the Lebanese government.
It accused Israel of carrying out “war crimes and crimes against humanity” by targeting civilians, displacing residents, and destroying hospitals, schools, places of worship, media institutions, and infrastructure, referring to Israeli statements that spoke of establishing a buffer zone south of the Litani and preventing residents from returning to their villages.
The memorandum also touched on the raids that targeted Beirut and other Lebanese regions on April 8, 2026, considering that they resulted in the death and injury of thousands of civilians, including children and women, despite the declaration of a regional ceasefire at the time.
The bloc confirmed that the Israeli attacks also targeted paramedics, doctors, media professionals, and members of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL forces, considering that these actions fall within the crimes punishable by international law and the International Criminal Court.
The bloc concluded its memorandum by calling for an end to all Israeli attacks on Lebanon, withdrawal from Lebanese territory, the return of residents to their villages, and the release of detainees, considering that any files related to the protection of Lebanon must be addressed through an internal dialogue that leads to the formulation of a national security strategy to which all Lebanese are committed.
